Onboarding with SmoothStay

Welcome to SmoothStay!

We’ve made it simple and quick to create your first guidebook. When you open a new account, our onboarding will guide you through the setup. You’ll follow these steps:


✏️ Step 1: Enter Basic User Information

When you sign up, you’ll be prompted to enter a few personal details:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Host alias (optional, but great for personalizing your brand!)


🏷️ Step 2: Brand Details

Next, you’ll set up your brand’s identity by providing:

  • Brand name

  • Default language for your guidebooks (you can change this for individual units later!)

This ensures your brand stays consistent across all your future guidebooks.


🏠 Step 3: Create Your First Unit

Finally, you’ll create your first unit by providing:

  • Unit name

  • Unit type (e.g., vacation rental, hotel, B&B, etc.)

  • Complete your unit’s address and location information

Once you’ve entered this information, SmoothStay will automatically generate the basic structure of your guidebook using our template.


📚 What’s Included After Completing the Onboarding Process?

  • Categories and Subcategories: SmoothStay will add default categories and subcategories based on our template (currently only available in English).

  • Unit’s Address Article: As a first few examples for you, we’ll create a few articles like your unit’s address, ensuring guests can find it right away!


✏️ Now it's Time to Customize Your Guidebooks

Once you’ve completed onboarding and landed in your dashboard, you can start tailoring your guidebooks:

  • Edit each unit's profile, content & sharing
  • Rename, change icons, or rearrange categories and subcategories.

  • Add or delete categories and subcategories as needed.

  • Start adding articles to personalize your guest experience!
