Onboarding with SmoothStay
Onboarding is where our AI guidebook builder turns what you already have into a working guest guidebook. You start it from the Create guidebook button, and minutes later you have a live, shareable site for your guests. Here is what that looks like start to finish, so nothing catches you off guard.
You start from something you already have
You don't write a guidebook from scratch. The builder works from your existing material in one of two ways:
Paste your Airbnb link and we pull the listing details for you: title, description, amenities, house rules, photos, and location.
Paste a description instead. Copy your listing text, or the full text from a welcome book you already made in Canva or on paper, and drop it in. If you already spent hours writing one, that work carries straight over.
The Airbnb link is the fastest path. Pasted text works for every property type and every channel.
The builder does the heavy lifting
Before it builds, we show you what we pulled: property type, check-in and checkout times, amenities, and location. Fix anything that looks off, then generate. From there the AI takes over and assembles a structured guidebook on its own. Expect it to:
Organize everything into clear sections a guest can navigate, from arrival and check-in through checkout.
Find and list the good spots nearby, including restaurants, attractions, and how to get around.
Set up your amenities so they display cleanly and are ready for guest questions.
Sort your photos into the articles they belong to.
It runs by itself. You are not answering a long questionnaire, and the whole thing takes minutes.
What you get at the end
A complete first draft of your guidebook, with its own link, ready to open on a phone. We show you a quick summary of what got built and a couple of ways to share it.
Think of it as a strong first draft, not a finished product. The AI fills in everything it can infer and flags the things only you know.
What you'll want to finish
The builder can't know your gate code or wifi password. Before you send the guidebook to a guest, complete the essentials we mark for you:
Check-in and checkout steps
Door or gate access, plus the wifi password
House rules
Directions to the property
Your contact info and local emergency numbers
Everything else is editable too. Change any wording, swap photos, or add and remove articles whenever you like.
After your first guidebook
The builder creates your first property, or your first room if you run a hotel or B&B. Shared articles like restaurants and nearby attractions are generated once and reused across your units. For the next one, you clone from the dashboard and adjust only what's specific to that space, so the second guidebook takes minutes rather than another full setup.
Once your guidebook is live, guests can ask it questions directly and the AI Concierge answers from your content. That is the part that quiets down the repeat messages in your inbox.
